The Daulton Collection
The Daulton Collection contains the world's largest private collection of the work of the eccentric Czech-German artist Gabriel von Max (1840-1915), who is known, especially, for his paintings of monkeys in an effort to reveal their "humanity" as support for the theories of evolutionary biologists Charles Darwin and Ernst Haeckel.
